Halo 2
The defeat of the Covenant in the first Halo game was only a temporary victory, as the alien attackers have renewed their mission to wipe out all of humanity. Despite the human military force's and Master Chief's efforts, the Covenant have breeched the Earth's defenses and have left its inhabitants in a dismal situation. In the midst of desperation, players assume the role of Master Chief and lead the resistance against the Covenant to save the people of Earth from a gruesome demise. Halo 2 will feature an immense and epic single player mode, as the story picks up where it ended in the first game. In addition to the single player mode, Halo 2 will also feature a redesigned multiplayer mode. While the first game limited players to LAN connectivity, Halo 2 takes multiplayer missions online by way of Xbox Live. |

Prince of Persia 2
The Prince is back. One of the best games of last year returns with some welcome improvements and some stellar control. With a darker theme, no annoying Farrah to worry about, and the ability to go back several centuries in time to alter future events, this one's looking like the true king of Xbox action games. The new free-form combat, which allows players to string a large variety of different moves together, is awesome and you get to fight a giant Minotaur to boot! Yes, substantial bosses will halt your path, puzzles will be more complex, and the action promises to be far more challenging, prettier, faster and better then before. |

Need for Speed underground 2
Need for Speed Underground 2 will challenge gamers to immerse themselves in the tuner culture, exploring an expansive, free-roaming city divided into five distinct neighborhoods. Gamers will encounter rival racers who will initiate events, tip players off to the hottest racing spots, and show them where to buy the most sought-after licensed aftermarket upgrades. The game will feature new game modes, deep new performance customization and tuning, and more than 30 licensed cars. The game also delivers twice the visual customization upgrades as the original game, providing a staggering 70 billion possible car combinations for total automotive self-expression. |

The Chronicles of Riddick
It's a first person action title with a minimalist approach to the HUD since there will be more than just shooting going on in this one. The Swedish developer Starbreeze --best known in Xbox circles for 2002's Enclave-- has implemented a system where information and Riddick's abilities will presented more contextually. The character Riddick has heightened sensory abilities that allow him to see and hear beyond normal human ranges and these abilities are engaged whenever he's crouched in "stealth mode." You'll get a spacey blur effect around the edge of your screen when he's engaged stealth. |

Van Helsing
Over the course of the game, Van Helsing hunts the elusive Dracula and comes across the Wolf Man, Frankenstein, Igor, and Mr. Hyde along the way as well as hundreds of other enemies. The action for the game focuses on near-constant fighting with either a projectile weapon or one of two handheld blades. Starting out, the man Van has his trusty pair of pistols and spinning hand blades that can rip through flesh. This will change as Van Helsing moves on up to the chaingun and a pair of swords. Most of the weapons have a more powerful form that can be used for a short time. |

Ninja Gaiden
Ninja's are known for a few things -- They are quick, deadly with a sword, and are masters of stealth. Ninja Gaiden completely disregards the last attribute and instead focuses on combat and cool ninja wall-run moves. There is no stealth in the game. Zero. Zilch. Seriously though, even if there were moments for stealth, I would never go for them, because the combat in this game is as sweet as it gets. This is an action first slaughter-fest that also happens to take place across some rather sizable maps with almost no noticeable load times outside the start of each chapter. Sound hefty? It is. |

Spiderman 2
Although both Rockstar Games and Treyarch will probably cringe at the sound of the phrase, Spider-Man 2, the fourth game in Activision's comic-book based series, is, without a doubt, Grand Theft Spider-Man -- a clear fusion of the ideas in Grand Theft Auto and the Spider-Man series. That's a good thing; a very good thing. Critics and gamers alike have been calling for something like this since the day GTA III stole Christmas in 2001, and now Activision and Treyarch have done something wonderful. |

The libraries are equal or at perhaps an even bigger attraction, giving players 36 characters to choose from both the SNK and Capcom annals. |

Burnout 3
This is the best racing / crashing game I've played yet. Takes the racing portion of SRS, and takes the crash concept of Wreckless. This game will take you from high fiveing your friends, to wanting to fight after being taken out just before crossing the finish line. Best features?
Crash Mode Amazing amount of fun.
Race Is just what it says, run fast and hard.
Burning Lap Boost , and you still might not make it.
Road Rage Lot of fun, worth the try.
Face Off You against the computer. Beat them and unlock Overall, one of the best game this year. Keep up the great work EA Sports! |
